How has kinesiology transformed my practice as an HMONP Architect?

As a passionate architect, I have always sought to design spaces where humans and their environment coexist in perfect harmony. However, something was missing, a more intimate, more subtle dimension, for my projects to come fully to life. I found this key in kinesiology. Today, I would like to share with you how this discipline has enriched my vision and transformed my practice.

The Vitruvian Man: an inexhaustible source of inspiration

Leonardo da Vinci , with his Vitruvian Man , illustrated the quest for balance between Man, his proportions, and the World around him. This drawing is a powerful metaphor for me: it symbolizes a universal connection that I try to recreate in each of my projects. But how can we integrate this harmony into spaces that welcome both humans and horses?

Listen to the bodies, respect the energies

Kinesiology taught me to listen to bodies, to read what they express beyond words. This listening ability applies to humans as well as animals. In my architectural projects, this means:

  • Observing horses and riders : Understanding how they use space, spotting areas of tension or discomfort, and adjusting my designs to make their movements more fluid.

  • Respecting energy flows : Whether it’s light, ventilation or circulation, every detail contributes to creating a balanced environment. I no longer design a box or a career without thinking about how energy circulates and influences well-being.

A holistic approach to architecture

Kinesiology also taught me to consider the project as a whole. Each element, from the choice of materials to the organization of spaces, must dialogue with its environment and its users. For example:

  • Natural materials : These are essential for establishing a connection with nature and reducing stress for horses and humans.

  • Human-horse interaction : I design spaces that foster bonding, such as peaceful observation areas or stables open to the outside.

From intuition to action

Before discovering kinesiology, I already relied on my instinct to design suitable places. But this discipline has given me concrete tools to transform this intuition into action. Thanks to simple techniques, such as muscle testing or conscious breathing, I can better understand the deep needs of users, whether human or equine.

Creating spaces that heal

My goal as an architect has always been to create spaces that go beyond their function to become places of well-being and regeneration. Kinesiology has allowed me to go further:

  • Design spaces that soothe the mind and body.

  • Making the invisible visible, by integrating elements that support emotional balance, such as specific colors, shapes and materials.

A vision for the future

In each project, I strive to reconcile the Human and the World, just as Leonardo da Vinci beautifully illustrated. Kinesiology has taught me that this balance is based on attentive listening and a deep understanding of each person's needs.

Today, my projects are no longer just constructions; they become living spaces, where humans and animals can flourish in harmony with their environment. Rambouillet, with its rich nature and equestrian traditions, is a perfect field of expression for this vision.

By integrating kinesiology into my practice, I found a way to better embody what the Vitruvian Man represents: the perfect unity between humans, nature and the universe.

And you, how could you reimagine your spaces so that they better reflect this universal harmony? I would be delighted to accompany you in this quest.
